Relax with the negative ion effect of Ashiyagawa River and Koza Falls.

【Kakitani Valley Course】(for families)
The trail going through Kakitani Valley, going past Mt. Gorogoro-dake and Okuike Pond, is good for hiking beginners.
Length: 6.5 km, 150 mins.
(Start at Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station, end at Ashiya Tollgate Bus Stop.)

【Rokurokuso and Mt. Gorogoro-dake Course】(intermediate level)
First half is a steep uphill climb, suitable for strong hikers. Enjoy the Ashiya townscape and natural environment.
Length: 5.4 km, 120 mins.

The Ashiya "Furusato" (hometown) Donation Souvenirs increased to a total of 143 types (44 businesses). You may now choose a souvenir with your donation of 10,000 yen or more.
The souvenir catalog is also a guidebook that introduces the participating businesses.
These souvenirs are presented to donors to express our love for Ashiya, introduce excellent Ashiya products to more people, and revitalize the region.
To fulfill our donors’ wishes to support Ashiya and make it a better place to live, your generous donations are used in education, culture, medicine, and other fields.

Let’s Create a “Clean, Safe, and Pleasant City to Live In”, Ashiya!

【Walk your dog on a leash and clean up its waste (Article 12)】
We receive many complaints about people who do not clean up their dog’s feces. Walking your dog outside without a leash is also prohibited. Pet owners must take responsibility so that people and pets can live comfortably together and avoid bothering neighbors. Always leash your dog for walking or exercise.

【Fireworks are prohibited in some places (Article 13, 3)】
Fireworks are prohibited in the Shio-Ashiya Beach area. 

【Do not use fireworks at night (from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the following day) (Article 13)】
In addition to “fireworks-prohibited areas”, fireworks are also prohibited at night in public spaces within Ashiya City (roads, parks, rivers, beaches, and other freely accessible areas).

【Barbecuing is prohibited in some places (Article 15, 3)】
Barbequing is prohibited along Ashiyagawa River (south of Shiroyama Dam) and on the north and south banks of Canal Park.

【Riding on pleasure boats in Canal Park is only allowed at certain times (Article 15, 5)】
Riding on pleasure boats (personal water crafts, motorboats, etc.) at Canal Park is prohibited from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following day.

【Graffiti is prohibited (Article 14)】
Graffiti in public places (roads, parks, rivers, beaches, and other freely accessible areas) and on buildings and related properties owned by others is prohibited.

*Each of these rules carries a fine of up to 100,000 yen.
*“Fireworks” refers to any fireworks that spin, move horizontally, fly, launch, make big noise, etc.
*“Barbeque” refers to any cooking that uses flame (including portable gas stoves).

 

 

<If You are Going to Live Abroad, Make Tax Arrangements before You Leave Japan>

Tax is assessed on the following individuals:

●Fixed Assets & City Planning Tax: individuals who own fixed assets in Ashiya City on January 1 of each year.
●Light Vehicle Tax: individuals who own a "kei" (light) vehicle or motorcycle on April 1 of each year.

【Business Garbage Handbook (Japanese Only)】
Business garbage may not be disposed of at domestic garbage stations or pipelines. Business owners must read this handbook and reduce garbage as much as possible, as well as disposing of garbage correctly.
The Handbook shows how to reduce and dispose of business garbage.

<From “Ashiya School Lunch” Cookbook; "Soboro-don">

【"Soboro-don"】
The beautiful color combination of chicken and egg stimulates the appetite.

【Ingredients 】(serves 4)
Rice.....2 "go" rice cooker cups (makes about 4 rice bowls)
Eggs.....3
Salt.....1/3 tsp.
Ground chicken.....200 grams
Gobo root.....50 grams
Green peas.....15 grams
Cooking oil.....as needed

A
Sugar.....2 tbsp.
"Koikuchi" (dark) soy sauce.....4 tsp.
Sake.....2 tsp.

【Recipe】
1. Break eggs and whisk with salt. Heat oil in frying pan at medium heat (medium flame), add eggs, and stir to make "iri-tamago" (finely scrambled egg topping).
2. Slice gobo root into thin diagonal shavings. Boil green peas.
3. Heat oil at medium heat in another frying pan, add ground chicken and gobo root, and sauté. When ingredients are cooked, add the seasonings in “A” to flavor, completing the “tori-soboro” (ground chicken topping).
4. Place rice into bowls, then top with “iri-tamago” and “tori-soboro”, and add green peas for decoration.
